Yes, it is time to find out who is taking home the grand prize for the Big Country Rock Remix Beat competition! Before we announce we want to give a shout out and thank you to guest judge, producer and sound designer Greg Savage of www.DiyMusicBiz.com! Please follow Greg on Twitter @diymbiz!
A quick recap of the rules:
5 Day Beat Competition: Produce an original instrumental beat using the guitar and bass loops provided in the FREE SOUNDS PACK as the predominant element in your beat! The free sounds came from our recent release Big Country Rock Guitar and Bass Loops! Producers had to use at least 3 sounds from the free sounds pack provided. They could chop, pitch or loop out, re-sample or process these sounds in any way you choose. Along with the free sounds, producers could use any additional sounds of their choice to create their beats. Beats could be in any popular music style. Each producer was allowed to enter up to two beats.

AND NOW TIME TO ANNOUNCE THE WINNING PRODUCERS!!!!…..
CHAMPION Winning Producer is…
Track name: Ups and Downs
Why we chose this track:
P5 notes: Very creative use of the sounds, creating an entirely new and infectious groove! Great movement and transitions, particularly the section beginning at 0:41; extremely innovative and current sounding. Great details in this beat overall, keyboard work is classic Dafingaz style, and the drum programming compliments the instruments very well (those dirty sounds work for this vibe!).

And the runners up are:
Runner Up #1 : JerzColeone
Track name: Untitled
P5 notes: Fun innovative track. Soncially well balanced. Great sounds! Love the vibe! Eclectic style. Wish the guitars were louder :-/
Greg’s notes: This is a nice entry, very musical, I like what you’ve done with the transitions. Didn’t expect to hear these 2 genre’s merge, it’s great work.
Runner Up #2: Yokuzin
Track name: A Free And Big Country
P5 notes: Innovative beat. Great details. Solid mix. All sections are interesting! Drum patterns could groove more. Careful on timing on the stabs.
Greg’s notes: I was a little worried by the way you were using some of the stabs, a few of them out of time. 0:13. 1:50 – 2:03. I like the way you incorporated this into Dubstep.
Runner Up #3: LoKlass Productions
Track name: The Wrap Up
P5 notes: Sick vibe. Innovative use of the samples. Nice mix. Little too repetitions. Would like to hear more transition elements, brakes, stops and other elements to break up the patterns.
Greg’s notes: This was a little too repetitive with the country bit and the Asian vibe could have been worked bit better IMO. I do like the risk and in all honesty it doesn’t sound bad at all, just too repetitive. I think creative use of filters would have brought help bring this to life a little more.
PS when I say filters I mean cutting gaps in the frequency space.
Each runner gets a free copy of the Big Studio Rock Guitar and Bass Loops!
