Here’s why the judges rolled with Marco’s track as the winner: for one, the production sounds excellent. This entry was one of the most polished sounding tracks we received. The over-all instrumental and vocal blend is seamless. Second, Marco created an extremely interesting hook out of the vocal chops, and expanded the potential of these chops more then most of the other entries. And third, Hassahn Phenomenon immediately improvised a hot ass verse the second he heard the track drop (and that has to be worth at least 100 points or something!). Got some Beat feedbacks for BMI Beats…
- The instrumental beat by itself is good.
- The main draw back we found is key alignment. Your beat is a bit out of key from the vocal samples.
- We wanted to hear more layering of the vocal samples to create a more dynamic vocal hook. Instead of just repeating one of the vocal samples as you did, a good idea would be (in my opinion) to layering in some of the other vocal samples that harmonized with each other. The vocal samples we provided almost work like a puzzle. They all harmonize with each other and play off each other rhythmically. It would be cool to hear you play around with them some more to see what kind of combinations you can come up with. I will say you had a very nice groove to your track. Harmonically, it needed some fine tuning. Hope this helps, and we definitely look forward to hearing more of your stuff!
Beat feedback for Church’s beat…
- Very hot track. Very dramatic.
- Good layering with the samples.
- Good vocal chopping.
- Slight issues with the rhythmical alignment of the vocal samples. They need to groove a little better with the instrumental.
- Not crazy about the over-drive on the vocal samples, just a personal opinion.
- Good track though. You made it to the top 30 out of 151. Not bad!!!
