Congradulations,

I totally disagree with these winners. 3rd place should have been first place! I and I should have been 2nd place.. or something like that. I’ll be back to win next time!
respect to all

It won’t let me listen to beats. I would love to hear them.

LP March 9, 2010 at 7:20 pm

ural:
LP Here. I really liked your beat. It made my top 10. My objection to it was that I couldn’t hear the Harp or Guitar. Not sure if you processed them, but if they were in there I couldn’t tell. But, no doubt, it was a hot beat.

LP March 9, 2010 at 7:21 pm

Yo Yokuzin: What kind of browser are you using to hear the beats

LP March 9, 2010 at 7:52 pm

Rory: Post a link to your beat!

hey i checked out the winnners personally i really thought i was gonna win but its ok ima try better next time ay John keep doin what you doin bruh i just got 1 question did ya’ll at least like it??

sikka March 10, 2010 at 3:30 am

The beats are sick no doubt these are some good to great beats. I know these beats are better than what I submitted. My only thing was after listening to them, I dont know if most of them would be considered RNB CLUB BANGA material. Definately beats I would listen to and chill too. I think Ural’s beat is defineatly a club banga type but you guys might be right on it missing the harp and guitar part but I really liked it too after listening to it. #3 and #1 are really good though.

Marcus Manderson March 10, 2010 at 7:31 am

The beats are sick. Congrats to all the winners. J Newt (that’s my producer name for you. LOL), hit me up if you ever wanna collab. Matter of fact, anyone hit me up if you ever need keys added to your crazy beats!!!!

Shah March 10, 2010 at 9:24 am

Nice job guys!!!

David Whiteside March 10, 2010 at 1:13 pm

Taylor,

Every beat we received was very good, and I really liked every beat (with the exception of maybe one or two). I can’t remember yours specifically. Can you post a link? I will say to you, and all entries for that matter, that these competitions are extremely difficult to judge. We get so many excellent submissions, and picking a winner is really just a matter of personal taste amongst 4 judges. Win or lose, the important thing is to keep trying. Just because some one wins one of these things, doesn’t mean that they are the best producer, they just rose to the this particular challenge, just like when my crappy Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the New Orleans Saints in the Saints own crib last year. Was TB a better team? Hell f’in no! They just rose to that challenge on that day, and the Saints of course went on to win the Superbowl (those bastards!). Trust me, if you keep entering these things, you are bound to win one, or at least place!

David Whiteside March 10, 2010 at 1:20 pm

uralblack,

Your track was pretty sick (as in awesome). Definitely a banger. You were in everyone’s top ten. I can only speak for me personally, but I wanted to hear at least some organic element in there, showing the source of the sounds, and there was something up with the drum pattern on the turn around, where the other finalists I felt didn’t have any flaws (although, that is purely my subjective opinion). Regardless, what you did was really exceptional, and you are correct, we should have included your track at least as a finalist. With your skills, you are definitely bound to win one of these competitions. You have some insane talent!

Jonathan Newton March 10, 2010 at 3:59 pm

Thanks all for the words (Carl, Marcus, etc). David is right about trying again and again. I’ve caught many a beat down when I knew I had serious heaters.

Marcus Manderson March 10, 2010 at 4:10 pm

You are welcome J Newt!!! Or you can try New Js Productions. Except you have to wear Jordans all the time. LOL. Keep grinding!…

David Whiteside March 10, 2010 at 4:28 pm

Fo sho, but no doubt Jonathan, you brought on this one! No denying it!

JahLove March 10, 2010 at 5:20 pm

Any suggestions for my beat? It’s here
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSSP_jFUYJc

Youtube messes up quality though

yokuzin March 10, 2010 at 5:53 pm

I don’t own a computer with internet. This one is an old version of explorer I think. Got a question. Was everyone that entered notified that their beat was recieved? If so, I guess mine never made it to you all. I will check the beats out somewhere, but here is my beat incase yall didn’t get it.

http://usershare.net/1c8wlsa0r805

Yes, I used only the sounds from the pack.

Carl M. Cartagena March 10, 2010 at 5:57 pm

No problem Jon! Very understandable.

Marcus Manderson March 10, 2010 at 6:07 pm

David,
What you think of my beat? Are we free to sell/license our beats and also use the sounds in other beats? Something to consider for future contests is providing each entrant with feedback, much like you are doing here. Lol. I know it’s hard for thousands of submissions, but think about it. Maybe some electronic form when you guys are judging. Keep the contests and sounds coming!!! Lol

yokuzin March 10, 2010 at 6:21 pm

Oh yeah, I used every single sound with the exception of using only one harp rex file and I didn’t use two of the guitar licks.

yokuzin March 10, 2010 at 6:33 pm

When I click a beat, it brings me back to this page. Save Target As is an HTML document.

SIMFONI March 14, 2010 at 5:26 pm

Hey Rory,

Thanks for the compliment you gave my track by stating you think I should have placed 1st! but jonathan’s track was very creative so i understand why he won, your track is nice as well. Congrats to 1st and 2nd place winners!

David Whiteside March 14, 2010 at 5:56 pm

Jahlove,

Checking out your track now. I definitely remember this beat. You got a lot of hot stuff going on in there. Very good drum programming, really like the patterns you made out of the hard and keyboard parts, and that bass pad really site nice. Two things in my opinion take away from the track, 1) that guitar part sits a little weird harmonically. It clashes a bit. And 2) the bounce style hat that comes in doesn’t quite match the drum groove to my ears. But besides that, the track is really nice. Very good mixing on your part too. Fellas, what do you all think?

David Whiteside March 14, 2010 at 6:02 pm

Rory,

I remember your beat as well. Definitely a very nice track. I really love the ideas you created out of these sounds for sure. My main thing with this track is that it sounded a little thin through out. I would of had the main hook part sound a bit more expansive. Maybe turn some of the sounds into a pad to give the track more scope?

Beknown March 14, 2010 at 8:17 pm

Hey can i get some comments on my beats??????!!!!

colin March 14, 2010 at 10:58 pm

Hey!

I just got back from Vegas and I’ve been waiting to see the winners. I’m glad you guys liked my beat! I enjoyed making it, and I just used my $50 to buy some loops that I can hardly wait to chop up as well!

Thanks again!!!

J.B March 15, 2010 at 8:05 am

David Whiteside March 17, 2010 at 2:42 pm
