Thanks so much Mr. Whiteside for the support. P5 Audio is truely an inspiration for me.

Beast January 14, 2010 at 3:49 pm

im slightly confused about rule no.3, does it mean we have to use atleast one sound from every pack

David Whiteside January 14, 2010 at 6:59 pm

Beast,

Basically it means you have to use an element from each of the 4 sound packs given. Example, a loop or chopped sample from the RnB Addiction Loop Set, a loop or sample from the Platinum Pop and RnB Harp Loops, drum sounds from the Swizzed Up Rida Kit, and a sample from the Billboard Guitar Licks: RnB Edition.

Keep in mind, you can do anything you want with these sounds. Chop them, pitch them, map them over a sampler, anything. AND REMEMBER YOU CAN ONLY USE THESE SOUNDS. NO OTHERS.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need some more info. I’m hear to help.

David Whiteside January 14, 2010 at 7:00 pm

Marcus Manderson January 22, 2010 at 11:57 am

Although I didn’t win the last competition, I’ve gotten a lot of feedback on the track I created. Some people say it’s the best beat I made yet! So, maybe I did win. LOL. I definitely enjoy your competitions. It is different from the basic remix competitions. We have to create everything from scratch, using your sounds. That’s fun! LOL. I just submitted mine. Can you please confirm that you received it? It’s called “What We Have.” Shout out to Hassahn Phenomenon for supporting this one. Good luck to everyone!…

David Whiteside January 22, 2010 at 12:22 pm

Yo Marcus,

Glad you entered! Yeah dude, we love puttting on these contests. Producers out there make some sick s#@! with these sounds. Look forward to hearing what you did. Big shout out to topnotchproductionz.com!!!

Marcus Manderson January 22, 2010 at 12:50 pm

David,

Thanks for confirming and the shoutout. I also got some music up online:

istandardproducers.com/da_fingaz
myspace.com/dafingaz1

and follow me

twitter.com/dafingaz

LOL. Thanks again! Can’t wait to hear what others come up with!…

David Whiteside January 23, 2010 at 2:18 am

Nice Marcus! I’ll check out your tracks as soon as our internet comes back up in our studio. We’re in LA, and that huge storm knocked out our connection. Hopefully tomorrow!

Marcus Manderson January 23, 2010 at 3:05 am

Cool. Thanks! Let me know what you think. I will definitely be adding some p5 sounds to me arsenal. LOL. Good luck recovering from the storm! If you are ever in the DC area, let me know. I’ll let you buy me lunch! LOL…

Marcus Manderson January 23, 2010 at 3:06 am

Correction: I will definitely be adding some p5 sounds to my arsenal. LOL…

Marshall Pugh January 23, 2010 at 7:59 pm

David Whiteside January 28, 2010 at 2:03 pm

Yo mehoolkmusic,

We just updated the free sounds link. Let me know if you have any more trouble with the sound pack.

David Whiteside January 28, 2010 at 2:05 pm

Big Z,

We’ll try and get the top 20 up there for you.

JahLove January 30, 2010 at 6:10 pm

Man I heard about this in the morning and started my beat, now its night time and I’m just getting done putting it together. Those are some inspiring sounds and a heck of a challenge fitting the guitars and harps in there but I think I made it work okay. Tomorrow I’ll start structuring it and maybe get to mixing.

Good luck everyone, P5Audio knows what producers need haha

Jb RitonTime January 31, 2010 at 1:06 pm

Hey, can i chopp just one note out of a sample and load it in my sampler to make a brand new melodie with it? Is it considered as “using the sample pack sounds?”

David Whiteside January 31, 2010 at 2:20 pm

JB -

Definitely. You can absolutely mapped chopped sounds from these sets across your sampler. Be as creative as you want to be!

Jahlove –

Look forward to checking out your track dude!

Jb RitonTime February 1, 2010 at 6:36 pm

Thanks for your fast answer, trying to make a beat with loud subbass from the drum set you provided, hope it’ll sounds good on a real subwoofer -that i dont have-.

MANTIS JUNIOR February 5, 2010 at 1:09 pm

YES D WHITESIDE JUST A QUICK QUERY, IS IT KOOL TO APPLY SOME FILTERS TO THE HARP PIECE AND MESS WITH THE PARAMETERS IN ORDER TO GIVE THE HARP ANOTHER DIMENSION AND DIFFERENT TONAL CHARACTER, LET ME KNOW MAN

David Whiteside February 5, 2010 at 1:49 pm

Yo Mantis,

Fo sho. That’s the whole idea. You can tweak these sounds any which way you want. Filter away!

Jason (In Depth Productions) February 8, 2010 at 4:24 pm

Yo Dave did you get my track called rb hit?

David Whiteside February 8, 2010 at 5:57 pm

Hey Jason,

I saw that an entry successfully came through for you. We’ll start going through the files next week, so if there is any problem with your mp3 we’ll hit you up.

BeKnown February 9, 2010 at 6:40 am

When you say that I can manipulate the sounds however I want. It will be ok for me to put a amp on the guitar as long as I’m using the guitar sound provided, right?

uralblack February 10, 2010 at 5:17 pm

can my song be more than 2 minutes?
maybe 2:10

David Whiteside February 11, 2010 at 3:04 am

BeKnown,

Fo sho. You can definitely run them through an plugin or amp simulator you want.

David Whiteside February 11, 2010 at 3:11 am

Uralblack -

I would play it safe and get it under two minutes. The judges may let it slide, but they also may throw it out if it’s too long. Hope that helps.

Thilan February 11, 2010 at 3:41 pm

I wanna join but the download link doesn’t work anymore :(

David Whiteside February 11, 2010 at 4:01 pm

Thilan -

Just updated the link. You should be good now.
