I’m heading over to the brand new Music Grammy Museum this weekend!  If you haven’t heard, the Grammy Museum just opened up in downtown Los Angeles, and features four stories of exhibits completely dedicated to the art of creating great music.  I’ve been waiting for something like this forever!  I hear they even have a replication of Jermaine Dupri’s studio, with an interactive exhibit where Dupri critiques your musical abilities.   Yikes, I’m screwed!  If you’re looking for some inspiration, this might be the place for you to visit.  I know as a music producer I personally need a booster shot in the ass every once in a while.  This may be it.  If anyone attends this thing, you gotta tell me us what you think.  I’ll give a complete review next week!

What up all!

So after I posted a video tutorial on youtube on how to use our Platinum Hitz and Stabz Kit (view tutorial below), producer LA’Trax (aka Lucian, www.myspace.com/latrax) decided to pick up a few of the same products and do a remake of my beat.  After he emailed me the beat I thought to myself “I definitely need to post this!”  I must say he did a pretty damn good job on this remake (in fact, I think I like his claps more!)  He forgot to put in the vocals, so I had to comp him a copy of our Radio Ready Female Vocal Lickz Vol 1 (on the house), and I can’t wait to hear what he does with them.  (more…)

It’s time to clear the air over our Platinum Hitz and Stabz kit.  Without a doubt this is one of my most favorite P5audio products to produce Hip Hop beats with.  Whenever I’m lost for ideas or my beat just needs some added flavor, I can always count on these sounds to get me out of a rut.  In fact, no matter what software I’m producing beats in, whether it be Reason, Cubase, Fruity Loops, Sony Acid Pro or whatever, my session template always contains the amazing Hitz and Stabz kit (just in case)!
